Director of the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin - quote: As a result of dominant media coverage of new epidemic threats such as swine influenza, other infection risks receive less public attention than they deserve. "We would like to bring to everybody's attention that the infectious diseases with the most severe consequences continue to be old acquaintances such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, malaria and hepatitis C. About six million people worldwide die of these diseases every year. "We urgently need vaccines against these great epidemics!" .
Special Features:
The new epidemic risks are often perceived as more critical than those that have been known for a long time. With latest development and technology, the biotechnology revolution has stimulated increased activity and has witnessed a remarkable pace in the research and development of vaccines and associated technologies for disease control through immunization. Many new diseases have recently become or soon will be vaccine preventable, and improvements to existing vaccines are appearing in rapid succession.
The 3 days event includes a pre-conference dinner on day one, giving delegates and organisations invaluable networking opportunities. The 2 days program are designed to provide practical and exciting case studies that encouraged participants to bring along any burning questions and challenges that exist within their organisation for discussions (whilst maintaining confidentiality). Topic discussed includes preclinical and clinical studies such as:
1) Improving the communication between departments involving vaccine research and development field studies on the latest vaccine-related scientific data. This risk involved on animal model trials before it has been approved on human.
2) The achievement of pre-clinical proof safety in animal toxicology studies, evaluation of dose sparing, proof of efficacy of the prototype vaccine in protection models with current pandemic, development of a stable vaccine using validated methods, evaluation of safety and immunogenicity in human clinical Phase 1 trial, evaluating protection and immunogenicity in human and many more.
This meeting is geared for CRO’s, VP’s, Directors, Senior Researchers, Heads, Group Leaders, Scientists, Specialists, Experts and PhD’s involved in vaccine research and development pipeline such as:
